Primary Maglev Markets

Maglev "seamless" access to the Washington Metrorail at Union Station, to BWI Airport at the terminal, and to the Baltimore Light Rail at Camden Station greatly increases the "reach" and appeal of the system and increases the value and appeal of the transit services and the airport. Among the study findings:

  • Annual boardings are anticipated to be greatest in Baltimore and slightly lower in Washington D.C.
  • BWI Airport and the airport area represents a major corridor attractor for both Baltimore and Washington.
  • It is anticipated that 13 percent of all airport passengers will use Maglev for trips to and from the airport in 2010.
